About The Celtic Thread

Having grown up in Ireland and lived in Scotland for several years Moya Pringle settled in Glastonbury with her family for thirty years. She and her husband Taras set up a mail order book business which later expanded into 'Growing Needs Bookshop'

 As time progressed , Moya's Celtic roots stirred her to express a further retail venture in the the Celtic Thread shop, which opened in Glastonbury in 1998. It soon became a "destination" shop for many regular visitors, and stocked products from Scotland, Ireland and England.

Now in 2010 Moya has moved with the Celtic Thread Business to the Isle of Iona, off the west coast of Scotland. The business is going through many changes, with Moya now producing weaving and crochet products herself  in her studio on Iona, to sell through the website and other island craft outlets.

"I have always loved the rugged western coastlines, the subtly changing colours of the seasons and the vibrancy of nature. All this ,I feel is mirrored in the products I make and the goods I sell. They continually inspire me, and I hope you too find inspiration " .
